Just upgraded both my watch and iphone. Now have a series 6 watch and iPhone 12 pro. Both on most current OS versions. I set up my watch as new. All seems to work fine except I can't install any compatible apps from the ios watch app. If I hit install it spins for a split second and then just stops. All apps do the same thing. I can however install apps directly from app store on watch. I've tried everything including hard reboots of both watch and phone, toggling wifi and bluetooth, logging in and out of icloud and itunes accounts (I use separate accounts), unpairing and re-pairing watch (twice). During the setup I have tried to allow all apps to be installed (vs installing manually after setup) but they don't get installed. In searching I have a seen a few references to a similar issues but seemed to be series 3 watches. The only thing I haven't done is set up my phone as new but I really don't have time to spend hours re-installing apps and setting them up one by one nor should I have to. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

I’m having the same issues. The only thing I haven’t done is totally reset my phone with a clean install. I just really don’t want to have to re download all my apps etc.

I have the same problem. I first encountered this on my iPhone Xs Max and still have the problem after upgrading to my 12 Pro Max. I was hoping the issue would have been resolved after upgrading, but that didn't help. I haven't called Apple yet and probably won't be able to any time soon.

Install the apps one at a time. Most of the time the app tries to install all at once and it doesn’t work. You probably need to restart both devices before installing apps one at a time. That scenario has worked for me each time.

Unfortunately, that hasn't worked for me, but it was worth a try.

Have you tried installing the apps directly from the watch? That should work as well. I have done that before.

Interestingly, when I go to the app store on my watch, it shows I have no purchases. I am using the same Apple ID for the app store on my watch as I use on my MacBook Pro, so I expected to see the same apps available.
