Hi,

Some time ago, I was able to figure out how to enable YP/NIS on my SL (non-server) box. I was able also to get ypserv running. Now I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I was able to keep ypbind from starting back up by removing /etc/defaultdomain. That's the easy part.

I used "launchctl stop com.apple.nis.ypserv", but it gets respawned. I used "launchctl remove com.apple.nis.ypserv" and that terminates it, but it comes back after a reboot. I checked in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/, and the xml plist file looks ok to me (just like on another server w/o NIS at all). I even search in every file using "find" in /System/Library, and all looks ok. I also looked in /Library/LaunchDaemons as well as .launchd.conf in ~.

Basically, nothing stands out. This isn't a huge deal for me, as the box is running fine. But, I just want to know how the heck I can figure out how to start it but not terminate it.

TIA,

EVP
