Can't log in to gmail with Iphone/ Ipad or Apple mail client

I cannot log in to my iphone, ipad or Apple mail with my google credentials. I made sure everything was being typed in correctly. The weird thing is, I am able to log in using mail.google.com website. I don't know why I am not able to check my email unless I use the website. I tried clearing the captcha and even changing my password in gmail. Can anyone tell me why this would come out of nowhere? I have not changed any settings on any of my devices or even though gmail. What's going on? This is very frustrating.

It used to work for you right? Try shutting down the phone and rebooting it.

I used to have problems with my ipod under 4.0 like this, sometimes it wouldn't get new mail and others it refused to move mail between folders or delete as I had that set to a folder too doing a reboot in sb settings brought it back.
