Can't logon to Gmail w/ Safari 3.0.4 ?!?

I can't login to Gmail in Safari!

I keep getting a "Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on. " error.

What happened? I've been using Safari with Gmail for the last year with no problems. Does anyone have a solution? Can you tell me what changed?

Yes. I have "always" selected in the security section of Safari preferences.
