iPhone Can't message wife via Share Sheet shortcut

For some reason, if I go to share a link or photo with my Wife via her unique shortcut in the share sheet, I immediately get "Message failed to send". If I select Messages from the share sheet and then select her contact information, then sharing works.

I've power cycled phone, reset network settings, looked for duplicate conversations, checked contact info (she only has one phone # listed), checked for duplicate contacts.

i have iPhone 11 Pro, she has iPhone XS - both are running iOS 13.2 - any ideas?

My guess is she is not really interested in the things you’re sending her. Don’t feel bad, my wife is not either.
