I just got a new Macbook today and its really nice!

However, I have a small problem. I want to add certain files to a folder inside one of my applications, and I get a message that reads:

"The item '(name of item)' could not be moved because '(name of folder)' cannot be modified".

I realize that this is an issue of who has permission to access and modify files, but Im the only user on this Mac so far, and nothing I do seems to grant me access. How do I fix this problem?

Thanks!

If you rename the application, removing the .app extension, you should be able to copy files inside. Once you're done, just re-add the extension and it will turn back into an application.

I have solved the problem. It appears I hadnt installed the application properly. Im just new to Mac OS!! Many thanks!
