You can recover it, but you need a second Mac to do it:

thanks for the link but this isn’t a revive or restore . Can’t get the internal SSD to mount ..
It most likely is the problem; the failure to personalize error is typical of a problem that'll be resolved by doing the recovery process. See here:

Requires WiFi
Bare install

1. Power off the M1
2. Press and hold the power button to enter recovery mode
3. Click the Options icon and then press continue
4. In the upper left corner select Recovery Assistant
5. In that drop down menu, select Erase Mac
7. Follow the on-screen steps from there

The drives will be labeled untitled but you can rename after the install.

Once you get to the point that you're getting the "failed to personalize" error, these steps unfortunately will most likely not work.

Tried that too... No Luck! It wont mount the SSD .. ! Ugh

Did you try using the restore process using Configurator I linked? That's your last option.
YES, that was my 1st mistake, I didnt realize that oprion was the correct way to do this! My old way was to erase both SSD and container 1 then re install.. Thats where it failed Thank your help! Wife is returning it today.. Thats what apple support said to do, Senior adviser said no way to re mount the SSD! That didnt seem right..

Why did you erase it? Just wondering. I for one dont like the new containers and treatment of drives and have had issue replacing a drive and Big Sur seems to make it worse. Hoping to never repeat your bricking event.

I was returning it, so I wanted to erase and re install the OS..
