iOS Can't move objects in Interface Builder

So I started a new project. This time, I started with an empty application. I just added a button to a new storyboard, but for some reason I can't move the button to place I want it in. What do I need to do to be able to move the button?

EDIT: I added a label, too, but couldn't move that object, either.

EDIT #2: The reason I couldn't move the button is that it was not embedded in a view.
