Can't open calendar

I need to access Calendar on my Macbook Pro but it just will not open it.

I click on it and the first time today the little icon started jumping up and down but nothing else happened and now it doesn't even do that. The icon just sits there, staring at me.............nor does anything change at the top of the page, it just stays as Safari File Edit etc.

Anyone have any ideas?

And you can also try the Universal Fix For Everything...reboot the computer!

I'd also make sure all instances of iCal are killed in activity monitor.

iCal died with 10.7, it's now "Calendar" and "Reminders."

Thanks everyone, rebooting worked.............now why didn't I think of that!!!
