Hi, I am trying to paste text into the comments box of an information window in finder (see screenshot)... I have always been able to do this up until today when it suddenly decided not respond. I think the permissions are ok.
I can manually type text (I typed 'cant paste' in the box) but when I copy text and then try to paste, it is non responsive. I can paste into a text document or an email so essentially it is working. I have tried dragging text into the window, or right-clicking and paste. I have shut down and restarted the computer but to no avail...

actually the lock symbol does gray out when i am in any app that isn't finder. i.e. I used preview to take a screenshot of the finder image.... The lock symbol IS clickable

Ok this is quite embarrassing but it seems it was a simple case of there being a word or character limit for the comments box, which I must've only just crossed by a few characters, but you don't get any pop-up warning message about this. I discovered by chance that smaller batches of text will still paste.
Apologies I guess  o_O ;)

well it's Apple who should apologize for not providing appropriate warnings if pasted text exceeds a limit...
