Can't pause Idvd slide show on TV

Hi
I'm using Mac Book Pro under Lion and Idvd 7.1.2.

I have recently made a slideshow for my son with pics from his 1st 30 years, all divided in 1 chapter/year and with background music. The problem is that, when watching it on the TV, he can't pause it in order to have a closer look at a pic.

Does anybody know how this could be rectified?
