I have never been able to get media I have in iTunes to play on apple TV. I just updated to Apple TV 4K and have it on ethernet on the same network as I have a MacMini. Home sharing is enabled on the mac mini and I have a lot of movies and CD's in iTunes that I ripped from media then I first got the mini. I no longer own a dvd or cd player. I can play all the media from iTunes on the the mini.
When I setup the new ATV it showed the mini on the computers icon. when I looked at the library/movies it showed at least some of the movies but then they disappeared. When I look at the library/music it shows the albums, until I try to play one and it won't play and then it disappears. The only thing I can think is how the directory is structured on the mini. It's changed over the years in iTunes and i'm not sure where the files are or should be.
Any ideas?
