OK, i'm working with a 05/06 little iBook G4 that can't burn DVD's.

I use my brothers laptop to Burn a movie onto a DVD-R with ConvertXtoDVD and completes ok etc.. however my iBook won't play it and most of the time wont even recognize I've even insterted a disc

I've been able to play DVD's burned on toast from other macs, but thats it as far as I can remember

also, are there any programs for PC that are sensitive to mac playability etc?

:(Thanks in advance

How long has it been since you tried using other DVD's? The DVD part of the drive could have simply gone out. If CD's work it does not necessarily mean DVD's will.

Yea, other DVD's work fine. watched a film I rented the other night

Maybe It's DVD-R's it does not like then. The writables need a "BETTER" (we'll say that because no one wanta a lengthyboring discussion on the metter).

Have you tested any other DVD-R's it your drive lately.

Also some older drives are picky about which writables they will read. try using a Taiyo Yuden disk for the burn as they are the best.
