My Windows XP install got screwed up, so I am trying to reinstall/repair the install. The problem is I can't enter the screen to do so.

I hold down option key during boot up and to boot from my original Windows XP cd. However, when it prompts "press any key to boot from cd", none of the keys are responsive. I even tried a external USB keyboard with no luck.

As a result, I cannot boot from the install cd and it attempts to boot from the hard drive, using a screwed up Windows XP system which then requires me to reboot.

It seems as though the internal (or external) USB keyboard is not "initialized" at boot up so I cannot use them.

I have a C2D Macbook Pro.

Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem?

TIA
