I bought a S3 of eBay and the seller and I have been having a hell of a time removing activation lock.

I told the guy to go into icloud.com and remove the device he did that but still locked, He then gave me the iCloud user name and password, tried to log in but it says incorrect, he told me to try logging into his icloud account, I did and it let me in but because of 2FA couldn't get any further but it proves at least the user name and password are correct.

I then told him using his phone go to settings, click on the name at the top scroll down to the bottom to he sees the watch and remove, he did that same thing.

Any ideas on what else to try?
[doublepost=1551248266][/doublepost]Right folks I am beat. I logged into icloud.com/find with the persons details, the apple watch was listed but said off line, I hit remove so its no longer on their account. Still the watch is locked.

It sounds like the watch may not have been the seller's to begin with. If it's still locked, it's possible that the watch may have been stolen and then put up for sale on eBay. Return the watch to the seller and obtain a refund.

I thought that but if that were the case it would not have shown up under their iCloud account

Then why is the watch still locked? I don't know if you can list a device in your iCloud account if it's locked, but all you really need is an Apple ID and password to access your iCloud account. In any event, you should return the watch to the seller and get a refund. You should be protected by eBay and PayPal.

The person said a refund was no problem but we’d rather get it sorted. Person also has the original receipt from apple store in December. I chattted with apple on live chat last night and they couldn’t figure it out either. Everything they suggested had been done. Have to phone today as phone lines were closed last night

Just return it.
