Weird problem that's been bugging me for a while.... 12 blank icons appear on my home screen... and each time I delete them, they reappear on repsring (even in safe mode). I've uninstalled "Blank Icon" app, removed all Winterboard themes, no dice. Played around with hiding-unhiding system apps in Springtomize etc., but the buggers are still there.

In regular mode, if I click on one, itcrashes my sprinboard and puts me in safe mode. In safe mode, clicking on one of these blank icons opens Safari (but no web site comes up). Anyone have an idea what is creating them!?

SSH or use a tool such as 'ifunbox' to navigate to: /private/var/mobile/Library/WebClips. once there you will need to find out which ones are the blank icons are which are default ones, to do so simply open the webclip and click on 'icon.png' (the ones with blank/no icon are the annoying blank icons that you want to remove from your springboard. Finally just delete those webclips and re-spring.

Thanks a lot, LW! That solution finally worked, and I never would have known to do that! Soon as I saw 12 folders called "blank" in the Webclips folder, I knew that's where the buggers were hiding! The icon.png showed no image, and the plist files contained Apple's website url oddly enough. Have a virtual Bud, on me!
