Can't Remove Optical Drive

I received my Samsung 830 SSD and Nimitz Optibay this week and got to work swapping out my 128GB Apple SSD for the Samsung.

Everything went fine until it came time to remove the optical drive. I could not get the #00 Phillips screwdriver to bite on the top two screws (near the antennas). Basically those two screws are stripped now and I can't get them out.

I suppose I'm going to have to have them drilled out somehow, but then I'm going to need replacement screws.

Anyone had this happen before? I guess finding a certified apple repair center might be an option? Or am i just stuck with the optical drive now?

Bingo! The more damage you do the harder the job will be for the tech! So just don't do anything eles and go find a certified apple repair dude!

and then buy the right tools for the job.

The problem with going to Apple is that the superdrive isn't considered a user servicable part, so expect to be stung.

You could also try using a tiny flathead screw driver to find a straight line to twist...if its totally rounded out then you'll have to drill it out
