Hi!

So basically I own my MacBook Pro, im the administrator, at the time I had a partner who I let create an account for so they could use it at times etc, today I tried removing them, ive made them a standard user etc but it keeps saying I need to enter their password for their Apple ID which baffles me since im the first owner.. now from what I can see, the main reason may be that they have find my Mac turned on.... I didn't even know they did this, so now I cant remove them because I dont have their password and they are unlikely to share it with me (bad terms) is there anything I can do as an admin etc to remove them? do I have to contact apple support to force the remove from find my Mac on their account?

any help appreciated thanks!

What year was the MacBook Pro made?
What CPU is inside? (intel or apple silicon)?

OP's troubles are a perfect example of why one should NEVER "share" one's Mac !!!

EDIT:
Do you still have the original receipt for this MacBook?
That PROVES that you are the original owner?
If you DO, you can take it to an Apple Store and perhaps they will clear the Apple ID.

BUT BE FOREWARNED:
Unless you can PROVE that you are the original owner (with the receipt), they WILL NOT do this.

It really does matter exactly what model it is. Some Macs support Activation Lock, where you’re gonna need to prove you own it (date of purchase is fine if bought from Apple directly, otherwise find your sales receipt).

Or if it’s an older model without Activation Lock, you can simply erase it.
