Because of the Kapersky free virus protection that comes with Parallels, i can no longer connect to the internet on the windows side (i say this because its the only thing i changed in windows in the last few weeks and the internet "died" ever since its installation). I even deleted the program, have firewall turned off and still cant connect. I can't repair the connection nor can i renew my IP address through the command prompt using ipconfig /renew. I get this error message: 'An error occurred when renewing interface Local Area Connection: Unable to contact your local DHCP server. Request has timed out.' The reason im trying to renew the IP is because its not a valid IP address beginning in 10.XXX, it starts with 169 which is the internal IP. I am so lost now, does anyone have any suggestions of more things i can try? Thanks.

Long live the mac :apple:
