hi,

For some reason I can't seem to reset my iPad Air after I was locked out.
A restore isn't possible because I've never connected it to a computer, so reset is my only option.

The problem is, when I go to reset, it says I'll need to do update and reset and update the software as well as resetting.
The reason I need to reset the device is because, for some ridiculous reason, I can't remember the passcode; my mind has just gone blank.
So the device is locked out after multiple tense attempts at trying to remember, and when I plug It into my Mac Pro and boot up iTunes to reset and update, it's saying I can't update because the iPad is locked.

For it to be reset, though, it needs to be updated, so I have no idea how to get past it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
