I had a dual boot at one time, so I had two partitions. I removed one of the partitions and I want to resize my other one to use my full disk space, but I can't. Disk Utility won't let me resize my other partition to take up the whole disk. Here is the screenshot:
(Ignore the yellow tag, I am not trying to delete that)

What's going on here, I really need the other 40.0GB.
Please Help!
Thanks

You can't resize a partition up, only down. My suggestion is to make a new partition at the top, then clone your current partition to the top. Boot from the top partition, delete the bottom partition, and expand your partition to fill the drive.

Hi Im having the same problem. How can I make an exact clone of my current partition and put it onto the other? thanks!

Once you've made a new partition at the top of your drive use an app like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to clone the drive's contents over.
