My iP7 arrived earlier today, so I backed up my 6 and then restored onto the 7 without any problems. Took the best part of 3 hours to get everything back, but it worked perfectly.

Now trying to repurpose the 6 for the girlfriend (who is still using my old 5 :D) and I've done exactly the same. Wiped the 6, backed up the 5, and then come to restore the backup but it fails right at the start. Whether I start from the phone, or in iTunes, as soon as it begins the 6 screen flashes onto Restoring screen and then a message pops up in iTunes to say connection lost so unable to restore.

Can't understand why given it worked perfectly from 6 to 7. Any ideas?

UPDATE

Finally got this sorted, although not entirely sure what was at fault. I'd noticed the 5 was still running 10.0.1 do decided to update it to 10.0.2. At the same time, I deleted the 5 backup. After the update, I ran another backup from the 5, which restored onto the 6 without any problems.

So either it didn't like the mismatch between iOS versions or there was a problem with the 5 backup. Either way, all sorted now :D
