having got my new iPad air 2, I now can't restore my old iPad 2 to factory settings.
Well I can but will also install the latest IOS onto it which I don't want, its staying in family so will have to delete everything myself.

If you do a factory reset on an ipad its not going to take off any ios updates. Not sure you can do that. but doing a factory reset will effectively clean the ipad of anything you had on it.

I am not trying to take off any updates as it is on 7.1.2 but I don't want to install the latest update on to which is what it says it will do if I do a restore.
