Cant restore iphone after jailbreak, help!

I had ios 4.0, jailbroke, everything was fine. I decided i wanted to upgrade to 4.0.1, so i plugged phone into itunes and hit restore. It starts to restore but the status bar stops around 2/3 of the way through. i hard reset the phone and tried again, same problem. Now my phone wont turn on and itunes cant restore it
Any help?
