iPod touch Cant restore Ipod.

Hi, I have an older generation 8 gb ipod touch, i haven't used it in a while as i lost it i recently found it again and when i connected it to the computer itunes said it needs to be restored but when i click it it then states that it unable to restore it. Please help.

Have you tried restoring in DFU mode?
