I currently have my 2010 MBP running on Lion but I want to restore back to the factory Snow Leopard settings. When I pop the disk in it says:

"You can't use this version of the application Install Mac OS X with this version of Mac OS X

You have install Mac OS X 23.1.1"

What the heck does this even mean? Do you guys know how to fix this? Thanks!

To downgrade you need to wipe your hard disk clean and then boot from your snow leopard cd.

If you have a time machine backup (or something similar), you can do a full system restore once your disk is wiped. If not, its gonna have to be a clean SL re-install.

wipe the drive and re-install the OS. I just did this about 2 weeks ago. Waiting on 10.7.2+

why would u even downgrade to the older version?

its not gonan be supported for long and lion is where everyone has to go

... because Lion is not quite the finished article but that's not unusual for a .0 release. For instance with my 2010 MBP, Lion eats at my battery life like nobody's business hence I've reverted back to SL. There may be other bugs or incompatibilities with Lion depending on software and/or hardware configurations.
