EDIT: THERE WAS AN ERROR AND IT SAID I HAD TO RESTORE THE PHONE. EVERY TIME I DO SO I GET AN ERROR 1004 OR SOMETHING...ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS??

I'm freaking out here...do I have to have 10.0.1 iTunes in order to restore? Because it says "restore and update"

---

I'm on 4.02 and going to genius tomorrow to get my phone home button fixed.

So, I need to get rid of signs of a JB. Is it enough to just update to 4.1? This will take off my JB and update the software? Then I can just walk into the store and there will be 0 sign of a JB?

Thanks!

Your jailbreak apps' plist files are stored in user space also included in your iTunes backup. It'll be best if you restore as a new phone.

While this is true, the Apple Service Reps generally don't check that carefully.

Hmm interesting - well there was an error so it made me restore my phone anyway (I don't care, I'm most likely getting a new one tomorrow). I'll restore from backup for tonight, and reset (maybe) tomorrow morning. Though hopefully they won't care.

But then what? And how do I do that, just launch tinyumbrella? It didn't work last time i tried

Launch it and in the bottom right corner after it detects your phone there should be an option to kick your phone out of recovery mode.

Disregard what I said. I was reading another post and yours was similar so I got confused.

Ahh I got it! A program called recboot got it out of the recovery mode all is good. Thanks guys!
