Can't restore without updating to 4.1?

EDIT: When I go to "restore" it says "restore and update"

So I can't restore without updating to 4.1??

I've heard of PKGbackup or something but I also heard there was something else?

And I've bought a couple things in ROCK - these should transfer to Cydia, right?

I'm trying to get rid of ROCK/see if my homescreen button problem is a result of some app that's on my phone. So I'm resetting it. What should I use to backup the JB'd apps? I suck at SSHing and all so if there's a simple way I'd love to know it!

You can only restore to the current firmware, unless you have hashes saved for other versions.

PkgBackup is for restoring Cydia apps and once you purchase something, you generally don't have to purchase it again. The exception was MyWi, there was a $10 upcharge to get the 4.0 version if you purchased the 3.0 version.
