Can't Search my iPod

i'm using 10.5.1, and i have found that i cannot search for files within my 80GB iPod Video. I can search in my USB stick, but Finder refuses to search my iPod. all the files are there: i can browse them, and copy etc, just cant search. HELP PLEASE :confused:
