Can't search SMB shares in Lion

Ever since I upgraded to Lion, I'm no longer able to search SMB shares. I have a windows server mounted on my desktop and I navigate to a folder on it enter some text in the search box, and it doesn't even search. It just says 0 items found (in the bottom of the window).

It used to work just fine in Snow Leopard.
