See the picture, basically, I have to resize the itunes window otherwise I can't see the bottom of it on my macbook pro. Any ideas??? If I resize, it doesn't stay like that for long.

Hold the Option key and click the green resize button in the upper left corner of iTunes.
 
you're a genious! why did that happen and what does the option button do
It can happen for many reasons, including changes to your screen resolution or switching from one display to another. Clicking that with the Option key resizes the window to fit the screen.
