Can't see apt folder when ssh into iphone

hi, i'm a newbie on this website and to iphones. i have got a iphone 3g jailbroked on cydia

i have error messages poping up when i use cydia and after searching the forums for solution i discovered that i had to ssh into my iphone and Delete all the files in /root/private/var/lib/apt/lists/ except for the partial.

however; when i do ssh into my iphone using cyberduck i cant see the apt folder

does anyone know how i could get to the folder so i could delete the files
