Can't see certain folders on Mac server w/Win7 Pro machine

Hi,
I am currently working in an office that uses a mac server. When I access it, I only see some of the folders. (I have access to all) We changed the names on a few and they became visible to me. However, that does not always work. Is there some syntax or naming protocols that we should be aware of that would make everything visible to me.
