cant see hd video in iphoto from imovie

I have taken some video from a small kodak hd video camera and downloaded into iphoto, can see it there but now want to transfer it into imovie for a project and cant seem to import it within imovie, go to pop down menu in imovie, shows all the photos but no video, any ideas ?

Download and install both the Perian codec suite and Flip4Mac.

Idea

This may work, it does on my HD videos, just hanbreak it for your iPhone, also will take up a lot less space.

actually its easier than that, found out for myself, just export to desk top then use the "import movie" from drop down menu within imovie DOH !
