can't see my USB typeC flash drive

I can't see my Kingston USB type C flash drive when i connect it to my macbook through the USBtypeC port, what am i doing wrong?

If you open Disk Utility, does it "show up" in DU's window?

Hmm very very weird, i reinserted the flash drive to my macbook to check what Fishrrman suggested and voila, the drive is recognised! How strange was that!
