I have an iPhone 2G that I want to use as an iPod (it doesn't have a phone plan). I created a MyWi hotspot on my 3Gs, which works fine. I have tested it with my iPad and was able to use it with no problem. For some reason, however, the iPhone 2G cannot see the MyWi hotspot. It can see my 2Wire home wireless network with no problem. Any ideas what the problem could be? TIA

Not sure if this gives any further information, but when I look at the networks that my Mac can "see", it lists my MyWi hotspot under "Devices" instead of with the other wireless networks that it sees. What might be the difference between the network that MyWi creates and a regular wireless network?

I tried to create an ad hoc network with another computer on my network and it's the same. My iPad can see it, but my iPhone 2G cannot.

Make sure WiFi is on on your 3G phone.
