Can't seem to disable Classic startup... help?

Hey guys,
Problem. So every time my computer starts up, it tries to start the classic environment with it. The only problem is that I don't have the classic environment installed so it fails. When I go to system preferences to try and fix the problem, the box, "Start Classic When you Login" is checked... but it is greyed out so I can't change it. Any ideas??? Thanks
