Can't seem to dload 8.4.1 from itunes

I don't know if this is the right area but since this pertains to my iPhone6+..

I have a PC windows 10. iTunes needed to be updated to newest version. But I couldn't dload it, it would lockup my iTunes. So I manually dloaded iTunes and installed it. That worked.

I plugged in my phone, did a backup to iTunes. It said I could dload the 8.4.1. When I do, it says something like "Contacting the iPhone software update server" and doesn't stop. I can cancel the dload and iTunes is still useable.
