My first iPhone had the dreaded yellow line and 2 dead pixels. 2nd had no yellow but 3 dead pixels. 3rd has two dead pixels and a large dust spot.

Has anyone else had better luck? I'm about to just live with the defects since I only notice the dead pixels occasionally and the dust spot when the screen brightness is high. It's tiring switching the phones.

I feel like dead pixels and dust are becoming features of apple products lately. Anyone else have a really good screen?

Yes, I've had better luck, my screen is perfect, no lines or dead pixels.

My iPhone 4 is fine, but I know how you feel. On my original iPhone 2G, I literally dented the top left and the bottom left corners of the screen because of pushing hard. It made the rainbow problem more visible when looking at the screen.

My original 3G had a great screen with no dead pixels or dust and my launch day Ip4 has a magnificent screen.

This seems to have happened to alot of people. I know one person who had this happen, they got a straight swap.

Nothing wrong with mine :)

I'll probably swap it out one more time but I'm ready to accept a couple dead pixels/dust if this doesn't work out. Oh well.

No screen issues with mine. Just keep swapping it out, until you get one with a good screen.

My iPhone 3G had a great screen no issues, my 3GS screen developed dust under the screen within 2 months, and so far my iPhone 4 screen is immaculate. Hope it stays that way!

Glad to hear good screens exist. I feel like the most annoying customer swapping phones for 2-3 dead pixels but I really do want a perfect screen!

I agree with this suggestion.

In fact, this is the solution to any one of a number of problems we are seeing with iPhone 4.

Since Apple has become a mainstream producer like Microsoft, they've not been able to keep up the quality standard. More defective units are shipped, so it's now up to the customer to do final inspection.

Get it swapped until you get a good one, or better yet, check the new iPhone before you leave the store with it. My launch day phone had the dreaded yellow splodges but I since I got it replaced, no problems at all.

In my house we have had five iPhones, two of them 4s, never had any issues with the screens. You have had bad luck I think. Magnitude of problems are always difficult to gauge on forums as people with no issues are under represented.

I think I do have bad luck plus dead pixels are really a pet peeve. Honestly the 2 dead pixels are so small I could probably live with them but I'd prefer none.

I setup an appointment for tomorrow. We will see if I get a good one then!

My wife and I got two week 30 phones, perfect screens on both so far. I don't know if the "when" makes a difference at all.

I gotta say I can't recall ever getting an Apple product with a dead pixel. Screen issues yes (iPhone 4 had excessively yellow screen and was replaced, Macbook had the screen flicker and was repaired), but never dead pixels. My brother on the other hand always seems to get Apple products with dead pixels.

I have a genius appointment tomorrow at 130pm. Hopefully I can check the screen before I leave and they are willing to work with the 2-3 dead pixels.
