Can't send HDMI video from iPhone4 or from 4s

Hello Everyone - I have an old iPhone 4 that my kids use without any cell service. I bought a cable to hook it to the hdmi input on my tv to stream Amazon. When I plug it into the TV I get some text on the tv saying the iPhone 4 does not support video mirroring. I know that but it should still stream video just not show the iPhone menus. Any thoughts?

No...that's the point. It does not support what you're wanting it to do.

Jailbreak it, I'm sure I've seen tweaks that will allow it to do this.
