Can't setup email for home ISP

I am not able to setup my email account to synch with my home ISP. It is pop3 and smtp mail servers. My iPad keeps giving me an error message saying it cannot setup ssl. There is no option for ssl to my Isp mail servers. Has anyone expirenced this and how did you successfully setup.

Uncheck the SSL option in Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> [your account] -> Advanced.
