Can't shut down from XP

I can't shut down, reboot, or even log off of XP SP2 using the windows commands or using the boot camp control panel. I used the boot camp "restart to OS X" once and it restarted into windows, after which point i've had this problem.

I would prefer to not have to do a forced shut down every time...
