:confused::confused::confused::confused: I can't go to the apple<Restart, Shut Down only sleep works. I have to manually push in the power button to turn off my mbp.....i dunno wat too do...that can't be good for my computer
 
If you hit the power button just once, the window should come up and allow you to select Shut Down manually.

Otherwise, I don't know when this feature was implemented (what computers/OS), you can hit:

control-option-command-eject key

on the keyboard to perform the shutdown command (no dialoge will appear). If that doesn't work then add the fn (funtion) button to that command if your keyboard has one.
