can't sign in to itunes store

I have an Apple TV3. It won't let me sign in to the itunes store. It keeps presenting the screen for my username and password.

I put them in correctly and it sends a code to my iphone which I enter correctly and it then tells me I have entered either the wrong username or password and presents the signin page again.

I have one more Apple TV3 and two Apple TV4's and have no problems with those. I also buy movies and I regularly put my password in with no problems on the others.

The problem Apple TV is becoming un-useable because it keeps flashing up the sign in screen.
