Can't sign in to MSN Messenger, very strange routing problem

At the moment I can't sign in to MSN Messenger from home via Adium or the official MS client. I get "unable to connect" or "you are not connected to the internet errors" from them respectively.

Turns out I can't ping either "messenger.hotmail.com" or "login.live.com".

Doing a traceroute, both fail at the router below:

ge-1-0-0-0.bay-64c-1a.ntwk.msn.net (207.46.37.158)

Doing a search on here, I found an old topic, , but it doesn't help much.

Just wondering if anyone knows where to go from here?

Possibly the server was down - MSN's servers can be unreliable at times.

Does it work now or is it still unavailable?
