Can't switch GPUs

Hi everyone,

I'm on a Mid-2009 MacBookPro, that comes with two GPUs (Geforce 9400M and Geforce 9600M GT). For some time now, I've been unable to switch to the 9600M GT.

When doing so, I'm just met with a black screen.
AHT does not detect any problems and the system profiling at least still still recognizes the 2nd card.

Any idea what might be the issue and information on whether it's fixable will be appreicated.
