iPod touch Can't sync anymore

I'm getting this error.
'Unable to load data class information from sync services. Reconnect or Try again'

I searched the forum and nothing came up. What is this and am I the only one?

oh, specs: ipod touch 2nd generation. The latest iOS. itunes 10 on OSX 10.6

Try reinstalling iTunes.

Makes sense, I recently installed Xcode 4 and this problem popped up.

Silly question. How do I reinstall itunes? And will my apps and music survive?

Ok, it worked.

Download the installer off apple.com/itunes.

Just hit install.
