can't sync my custom ringtones from the "ringtone library"...help!!!

thank you for reading my post and hopefully someone can help me...i was able to convert my custom ringtones from .m4a to .m4r and got recognized by the itunes ringtone library...but as i click the sync icon, it says song cannot copied to the iphone because it cannot be played on this iphone. anyone knows what am i missing or did wrong...? again, thank you for your help.

You have to go into the Ringtones folder and change it back into an m4a.
