Hello,

I use my own webserver for emails, have done so for more than a decade now. From time to time I have to "remind" Mail app to trust the certificate.

But today, when the certificate error popped up, all I could do was press OK. There wasn't a way for me to check the certificate, select the trust level and click ok.

I restarted my mac but it didn't help.

Any help?

I think you can try adding your own certificate in the Keychain access, just open Keychain -> My Certificates and drag-drop it there. Apple article
Also, you can try creating the certificate right there by clicking Keychain Access > Certificate Assistant > Create a Certificate...

First thought: Couldn't you avoid this problem by getting your server cert from Let's Encrypt?

In the end, I removed the email account from mail and re-added it. It created a certificate and things now work correctly.

I'll have a look at let's encrypt if this happens again. Thanks.
