Hey guys, so i updated to Lion, liked it, then did a clean install of lion, did a couple of back ups on time machine before doing a clean install.
Anyways I forgot to back up some bookmarks and stuff and wanted to jump back to Snow Leopard to retrive these files, save them on a flash then back to my Lion restore. I tried to manually retrieve the files but some of the files are hidden and also spotlight/finder don't search through Library files, in short it wont let me do it that way.
Thing is, I first tried booting from my external, but it would not let me. So then I did that command R thing, regular boot options came up, went to restore from time machine (i had it connected by USB to my external) my external was working, light on and disk spinning, but it never located any time machine back ups.
it's a 1.5TB and ive used up about .5TB in 2 years, i thought it might take a while to find all the back up's ive made, so i left to buy something to eat, ate, came back and still nothing showed up in the Time Machine back ups.
I went all the way to the point where it said "you may connect an external disk now" i disconnected and reconnected and still nothing. I restarted my computer, I was backed everything up again and was still able to access time machine. I have used time machine to get an old email. everything is working, but time machine restore wont work. what gives? is it an error in Lion?
